The company’s digital asset holdings are still valued at $184 million, according to reports.
Although there was no formal announcement of the launch, Musk had previously hinted on numerous occasions that there would be a Bitcoin payment function on Twitter.
Bitcoin Payments on Twitter: What is the Reality?
The cryptocurrency community was abuzz with news that Tesla has incorporated Bitcoin and Dogecoin payment functionality into the source code of its website. In actuality, it was discovered that the website’s source code already had the keywords “Bitcoin” and “Dogecoin.”
Although it did not exist at the time, the automaker’s website added the crypto payments feature in January 2023 and has kept it since. This raises the possibility that the Tesla Bitcoin and Tesla Dogecoin payment facilities may soon be available.
Due to his frequent references to Dogecoin in his tweets, it is well known that Elon Musk is a prominent member of the memecoin community. Therefore, it may be assumed that when they start, Tesla and Twitter will include Dogecoin in addition to BTC in the first batch of cryptocurrencies.
