Flutterwave has entered a multi-year partnership with Polygon Labs, naming Polygon PoS as the default blockchain infrastructure for its upcoming cross-border payments solution. The collaboration aims to enable instant, low-cost transactions across more than 30 African nations.
The rollout will begin with a 2025 pilot for select Flutterwave for Business clients, followed by full integration for both business users and Send App customers in 2026. With over $40 billion in processed transaction volume and operations spanning 150+ currencies, Flutterwave plans to leverage Polygon’s scalable network and stablecoin settlement features to deliver faster and more affordable payments. Major global partners such as Uber and Audiomack are expected to benefit from the enhanced efficiency this integration provides.

Polygon–Flutterwave Partnership Targets Faster, Cheaper Cross-Border Payments
The partnership seeks to shrink settlement times from days to mere seconds and cut transaction fees to just a few cents, addressing long-standing challenges in the $2 trillion global cross-border payments market. It also aims to accelerate the adoption of stablecoins for real-world use across emerging economies. According to Polygon CEO Marc Boiron, stablecoin payments processed through Polygon can reduce settlement durations “from days to seconds.”
The rollout will start with enterprise clients before expanding to consumer remittances, operating in compliance with all relevant jurisdictional laws.
